Dr. Rick L. Cutsinger
A Very Unusual Source
The world of chiropractic and literally
thousands of satisfied patients owe a debt of
gratitude to a very unusual source – sneezing.
Uncontrollable, eyes swollen shut, disrupting
the entire class, bursts of 20 and more sneezes.
Such was the early grade school life of the
future Dr. Rick Cutsinger.
Diagnosed as “hay fever” by the medical
community, the chronic, acute sinus condition
was untreatable and unbearable. “Take Allerest
and learn to live with it” was the prescribed
treatment from the medical community. Not much
help to a 9 year old with constant itchy, red
eyes, difficulty breathing, bursts of non-stop
sneezing, and generally miserable conditions.
And the worst of it all was the ridicule from
the kids.
On the advice and referral of a longtime family
friend, Rick’s parents finally took him to see a
chiropractor when he was 10.
Relief
Like so many of his future patients, from the
very first adjustment Rick started to experience
relief. After three months of treatment, his
body had healed enough so that he could breath
freely, his eyes quit itching, and the sneezing
episodes were reduced by at least 80%. The
problem turned out to have been caused by a
reversed cervical curve and a C1/C2 subluxation,
all of which responded to treatment.
A Family Affair Ricks Dad suffered from a sinus condition and, with the dramatic improvement in Ricks condition brought about by chiropractic treatment, Ricks whole family began a treatment regimen. Having overcome his anti-chiropractic bias with the experience of the whole family, his Dad left his career in the furniture business and enrolled in the prestigious Palmer School of Chiropractic, graduating in 1976.
Returning the Favor After exploring several different careers, Rick started at the Palmer School, only to have to quit when he ran out of tuition money. He became very successful in the furniture business and married his wife Vicki after which they gave birth to a new daughter, Heather. Managing furniture stores provided a good living but didnt provide the satisfaction that the practice of chiropractic held out for Rick. Consequently, he returned to school at the Palmer College of Chiropractic, graduating in 1985
On His Own
On graduation, the new Dr. Cutsinger joined his
Dad in practice in Nashville. After 3 years, he
and wife Vicki started their own practice at 504
West Main, just off Five Points, in downtown
Franklin, Tennessee.
Today He has successfully treated thousands of satisfied patients, coming from as far as New York, Colorado, and California to be in his care. He is particularly proficient in the use of toggle recoil which involves specific adjustments to the cervical spine. He is also very effective in treating chronic low back cases which are resistant to traditional treatments and chronic sinus and headache problems, especially migraines.
Dr. Cutsinger specializes in specific corrective and reductive chiropractic care, traditional and progressive techniques, and in the most challenging cases. Patients are often referred to Dr. Cutsinger by the medical profession when non-surgical relief cannot be achieved for the patient and has had medical doctors as patients. His treatments have also been very effective on referral patients from other chiropractors.
Dr. Cutsingers wife, Vicki, operates a massage therapy practice, Neuro Touch Massage, which complements the healing services offered by Cutsinger Chiropractic.
